Emergency Procedures

Emergency Evacuation Announcements

Once the Messe Frankfurt’s  Operation and Security Center have made a decision to evacuate, a preliminary alert is issued to inform the individuals who are required to assist in the evacuation.

The evacuation alarm is issued approx. five minutes after this preliminary alert. It is to be assumed that it will take approx. 15 minutes to evacuate a hall.

This means that a large scale evacuation in which additional personal hazard can largely be excluded should be completed within about 20 minutes. In the event of acute danger, the hall / building manager can reduce the actual evacuation time to approx. 15 minutes by issuing the alarm directly

Emergency Evacuation Announcements

The evacuation alarm is issued in an announcement. This announcement is given in three languages (German, English, French) and runs in an endless loop until it is turned off (to be agreed). Evacuation alarm:

Ladies and Gentlemen, this is an EVACUATION ALARM!

Please leave the building immediately.
Use the emergency exits marked with green and white symbols.

Please follow the instructions given by the evacuation assistants.

On Discovery of a Fire

Raise the alarm using the nearest Fire Call Point.

Contact the nearest security guard

DO NOT Call the German Fire Service directly

Know when not to tackle a fire.

Use a fire extinguisher correctly and safely (if trained to do so).

Do not stop to collect personal belongings

Section 9

Security

Please recognise that we are all experts in our workplace, and we are ideally placed to spot when something is amiss.

In this period of heightened alert, it is vital to remain vigilant, trust your instincts and report any suspicious behaviour to your Line Manager or the Sibos Event Safety management team immediately.

The event site has a 24 hr security presence.
