image

In the event of an emergency, it may be necessary to evacuate the entire venue or individual areas of the venue. The process of emergency evacuation carries its own risks and will therefore only be undertaken when absolutely necessary.

In the event of a fire onsite your safety is paramount. Do not attempt to fight a fire unless it is safe to do so and only if you have the appropriate training to use the fire extinguishers onsite.

Discovering a Fire:

You should alert everyone in the immediate area by shouting ‘FIRE, FIRE, FIRE’. Then raise the alarm by operating a call point, which are installed at each vehicle door and fire exit.

The alarm includes a combined alert of speech and tone. The speech will repeat the following:

“Attention please! Attention please! Will everybody please leave the building by the nearest exit. This is an emergency. The staff will assist and direct you.”

On hearing the call, or from instruction by venue staff / security, all persons should make their work areas safe and make their way to the fire assembly point.

All contractors, suppliers and HOD's to make a roll call of their employees onsite

All contractor site managers or exhibitors to confirm with the Project Manger that all staff and sub contractors are accounted for

Leave the area immediately and report to your manager at the fire assembly point, which is located at the back and the front of the venue.

In the event of an evacuation, please leave the building via the closest fire exit.

There are two fire assembly points - please congregate at the fire assembly point on Windmill Street, at the front of the venue.

Please congregate at the front of the building at the fire assembly point for roll call.

If you are missing any of your team, you must make the safety advisor or venue fire warden aware during roll call, making note of where they were seen last.

Section 9
